






My brother Doug recently pointed out that the continued expansion of housing development in the 1960s led to the North/South runway extension’s forced closure. I always referred to that section of the runway as “The X Runway” but never asked why we stopped using it. Now I know. Thanks, Doug!

Nice job Bill! You might want to mention the existence of the North/South runway (cross wind runway) that was in use until at least the mid 60’s. The housing developments put an end to that. 😠 You are truly doing justice.
